i strongly agree, for a sandy i5, nothing more than a hyper212plus is required for oc around 4.5ghz

I understand that, but sometimes people don't consider the closed loop water coolers as an alternative to "actual" watercooling... when the price of some of the closed loops are the same as the large and heavy aircoolers.

I guess u are right ... a lot of ppl don't trust closed loops ... but in all honesty ... when u take the performance of high end air coolers ... it completely rules out the lower\mid range closed systems ... not only that ... but a lot of ppl also like the aggressive look of a high end air cooler ... yes it is a sad fact to some ... but I am one of those people ... hahaha ... ppl look into my case and go ... what the hell is that ... ... (high end systems or high end parts like the SA are not very common in my country from what I can tell)

My SB, and many others are and were under control with air coolers... even a 212+ I think he may be doing something wrong...

It is all about personal preference, and that is the way it should be. I agree a bad-arse looking aircooler has that wow factor about it. But I will never stop giving people multiple options they may not have thought of before. I have an H60, and I love it. Keeps the hot air out of my case, I had an H212+ and the internal temps of my case dropped when I took it out. (the H212+ kept my chip cool enough though for a nice 4.8 GHz on my 2500K

We have a similar setup. Take my advice and just get a Hyper 212+ Saves you money and you should be able to get to at LEAST 4.5Ghz with favorable temperatures (<~70*C), I use this cooler for air benching my 2500k up to ~80*C when reaching approaching 1.45v on VCORE which I would say is its limit. This heat-sink has a very nice pressure clamp tension system, which is probably why its so high performance for the budget.

If you really want to shave 20*C off that peak, then get a closed Liquid cooler as in Corsair Hxxx series. Less bulk, less noise. Take my word for it!

Anything less that a H80 or Antec 920 in my opinion isn't worth it if you are doing some major overclocks unless u get a great chip that can OC like crazy with a low voltage ...

How does the H60\Kuhler 620 handle OC's of 4.8 ??

My H60 at 4.9GHz 2500K is 65C after 24 hours of Prime 95.
At normal day to day usage, even gaming I don't even hit 60
