Eyefinity Setup.

Thread Starter
Hey Guys, just a quick question.

I've just upgraded from a Radeon HD 4670 ( lol ) to a 6850. I've got an AMD Phenom 8450 @ 2.4Ghz. My question is, does anybody know how this would run with an Eyefinity setup? I've just ordered my third monitor, so that'll be here in the next few days. thumb.gif

I'm thinking about going out and putting in another 6850 so I'll have two 6850's in Crossfire, would this help with Eyefinity? I know this is a pretty old, and crappy CPU. I'm getting a CPU bottleneck at the moment with this card, But I'm waiting until April for Ivy Bridge. Then I'll get a new board / cpu / ram.

Thank everyone,
Josh

The VRAM on the 6850's won't nearly be enough for dual screens, let alone triple.

I do Eyefinity over dual monitors at the moment, both at 1080p, and get great frames with everything on High, even in games like GTA. Although I rarely do this as games over dual monitors suck xD

Thanks for your reply.

yeah maybe not maxing out a game.

since your doing 3 monitors here I highly suggest getting a second gpu and with that you should be able to play med - med/high settings without aa at 3x resolution

if you got the 2gb versions you would've been set.

6850 1gb in xfire will easily match the speed of a GTX580 so you can get high frames with three monitors.
Just have to turn down some settings when you hit the vram limit.

You should try GPU demanding games for now to avoid using the CPU too much.
Crysis 2 ran fine on my phenom 8450 so that's a good game to test eyefinity.
