tmobile does not offer unlimited data usage on their devices.
actually, they technically do, but let me put it in these terms:
you rent a car. under the rental terms, you are allowed to drive the vehicle as far as you want! for the first 100 miles, you can drive as fast as the car will go, BUT after that....well, you're limited to 25 mph.
tmobile will give you X amount (goes up by plan) of data at up to 4g, but after that you are limited to 2G (edge) which is pretty miserably slow.
the only carrier that doesn't cap, charge overages, or throttle is sprint. i have a coworker who is with sprint, and uses his phone to torrent. he uses 20-30GB/month consistently without slowing down at all. unfortunately, while voice/text coverage is great (due to roaming on verizon), data coverage is not so great outside of densely populated areas.
i happen to work in a store that sells att, tmobile, verizon, and sprint, and i hate pretty much all of them for their misleading advertising. in this case, tmobile's "unlimited" plans turn out to be not so unlimited.
