Fans of Civilization V have been begging me for an answer to this question for quite some time: will Civilization V get an expansion pack?

Today I am extremely excited to tell you all that yes, it will! Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods & Kings is currently slated for a late Spring 2012 release.

It will come as no surprise to those of you who are familar with expansion packs for previous Civilization games that Gods & Kings will add more techs, units, buildings, Wonders, and playable Civilizations. But what about the big brand new game elements that will change the way you conquer the world? Let me lay it out for you:

link for some High res screen shots!

I know but I hope they improved it over CIV4. I am excited. Sounds like a small overhaul of the game.

I personally think CIV5 is the best in the series even with it's huge faults. So this should just make it better thumb.gif

Is there a version on steam that has absolutely every DLC to date available for me to buy? Last time I checked there was a game of the year eddition of sorts that had some of the DLC, but not all of it. I'm not paying for the game until I can buy a complete package.

Hm. That might convince me to give the game another go. I preordered it, played it for a couple days when it first came out, and was pretty disappointed. I thought Civ IV was so much deeper. Dunno why but I just hate city-states and their implementation.

Yeah, city states are a nuisence. The only thing they are good for is they often maintain territory somewhere near your enemy. So, as long as they don't have a defence pact, you can often take the city state and start to grow into other players land.
