You completely missed the point of what I was saying, btw.
I think you should stop assuming. I already told you my dislikes about this game. Point blank the AI is retarded. Increasing difficulty levels should increase the AI quality and yet i find that from Beginner to Deity the AI is always just as stupid, the only difference is they get an ungodly amount of cheats for Deity that no human can ever hope to counter. I'm a teching guru in this game and on Immortal I find myself frequently +70 turns behind by the time someone makes the Statue of Liberty.
As i said before, when i increase the difficulty to immortal or deity i want to feel like it's an even chess match where the strategy is what separates winners from losers. What i get is akin to a bunch of 10 yr old haxors.
Considering the Civ community seems incredibly disappointed about the AI and bugs just like I do, your words don't carry any weight. Are you defending it from a rational POV or that of a fan?
I think you are taking my tone as attacking. I am sorry if I came across that way.
I am clearly a fan, been since CIV2
And using that vast history I can tell you right now every iteration has the "CIV community" up in arms with the AI and other annoying game mechanics.
What the game should do and what it does do are two different things. I never understood people that play a game 250+ hours and not have any thing positive to say about it. Honestly I would never had guess you played it that much with the way you were talking.
I myself have played 700+ hrs. bought the game on day one and haven't stopped since (I know sad, stop judging lol
As the game has problems, as all games do, I myself haven't found any game to entertain me this long
I again am sorry if I came across a snobby or what ever that was never my intent.Edited by Hogwasher - 2/16/12 at 11:32pm
