Red Rhino Build (i7 3930k)

Thread Starter
Well here is the build log for my new build. After much debating on parts and the like, here is what I decided on:

PRODUCT LIST

Also got a Antec Veris Premier (may or may not use it on this build, may go into my HTPC)
and a CoolJAG 120mm programmable fan, of course for the looks wink.gif

All parts arrived 2/15/12 except for the Antec Veris, the cpu, and one red sata 6gb cable I forgot to order till a couple of days ago.

Here is the pic of them all together.

399

Here is the RAM

399

Here is a closer look at the h100, mobo, fans, programmable fan, and cold cathode

399

Closer look at the cards and Corsair force gt 240 gb ssd

399

This case is a MONSTER, just to give you an idea here is my antec 1200ax next to it's box for size comparison

399

I will post more pics later on (like the case out of the packaging) but didn't have enough time last night to do it.

In the plans:
Overclock to 4.8-5ghz (24/7)
Get a 7.9 WEI wink.gif
Install WC setup
- koolance cpu and mobo blocks
- t-virus 250ml res
-primochill red tubing
- swiftech pump
- ex 360 in p/p
Sell a brand new Corsair H100 since i wont need it anymore LOL biggrin.gif
Sell my old rig so i can put some nice gpus in this one
sleeve all viewable cables (red or black)
Custom PSU sticker (red)
Custom paint SLI bridge red

Send back the P9X79 WS and get a Asus RIVE instead
Buy 1 more Cooler Master 120mm Red Case Fans
Buy 3 Apevia 140mm Red Case Fans
Buy Individually Sleeved Modular Cable upgrade kit for the Professional Series Gold AX1200 (red)
All red Sata cables
Red fans for corsair in P/P

Its overflowing with RAM !

So not to sound out of line but with an expensive build like that why not get a EK watercooling kit instead of the H100 ? They are ~ $250

EK has great instructions from what I have seen and guys here will help you out ?

Still not entirely comfortable with water cooling yet. I have a machine that I will be selling for about $1500-1800 (depending on which cards the guy wants) which will give me the $ for new vid card upgrades in this, also monitors, and possibly water cooling solution for all of it. I'm just "afraid" of doing it wrong and not getting the right parts, etc, and watching my beauty go up in smoke. Also not a big fan of replacing coolant, etc.

Understandable. EK has some good kits that will help you avoid the possible buying of wrong stuff...now if you ever put the GPU's on water its a different story.

Just figured someone else would mention it as well. It always something you can upgrade latter.

Subbed and enjoy your build !thumb.gif

I wish Rosewill will one day make a complete product.
Everything about that case is perfect except for those colored cables. They stand out like a sore thumb. I would get those sleeved ASAP.

That is odd...even a corsair 400R or a NZXT Source 210 does a better job

Yeah, I most likely will, but im going to see the build first, mainly because I didnt actually have the dough to throw at the RIVE board to match my red/black theme. this means the mobo is got some blue parts on it, which im going to try to cover. The idea is that I will cover as much "off-theme" stuff up as possible. Hopefully I can hide those cables behind my just purchased Corsair individually sleeved red cables.

Ok, so in reality i did have the money but I couldnt justify it to myself (yet anyway wink.gif ) as i would to have had to drop something else out of the build to pay for it, as my budget was set in stone.

EDIT: Im OCD and RMA'd the board and got the RIVE board instead for a better look.

Thank you.

What do you all think about me replacing the side fan with a 360mm single fan? The original plan was to leave it with the current side fan and put the 120mm cooljag in the upper right corner of the side panel (most likely disabling the blue leds on the cooljag). Input appreciated.

Now to decide if/where to defile this case with all my beautiful case stickers rolleyes.gif
