Tips for taking fantastic PC pictures?

Hey guys,

I don't want to be completely unrealistic here because I know many consider photography an art and something that takes years to master.

Regardless I was hoping a few of you could share some great tips for taking quality professional looking pictures. I see them all the time. The crystal clear, straight out of the workshop looking pictures that make you drool. I would love to hear from those of you that have achieved this quality of work.

-What camera do you use/recommend?
-What did you do to achieve great lighting/recommend?
-What colors and computer themes look great on camera?
-What little tip seemed to really help when things didn't look as great as you wanted?
-Best way to take sexy and non-distorted night/LED pictures?

Thanks guys. And I apologize in advance if anyone finds this post half ass or offensive in some way.
