What type of voltage are you putting into that Opteron? That is a high load temp for a 2.4GHz overclock, and that would be the first area I would look at as an issue. You should be able to get around 2.4GHz completely stable with 1.35-1.40 volts and if you are using more then that it will not help stability and just drive your temps up. Are you running your memory on a divider? That might be a limitation if you are not. Do you have your chipset voltage a little higher then stock, like 1.6 or 1.7 volts? Are you keeping your HTT multiplier in accordance with your HT(FSB) to ensure it remains at 1000MHz or less? I know this is off an a tangent from the original intention of this thread, but I would like to see you realize the full potential of your Opteron.
The voltage is set to 1.5 in the bios i think, but it is only at 1.425 - 1.475 in Cpu-z. i think i need a power supply to even it out nicer before i clock up. I have G.Skill ram, it is at 1:1, i think the HTT and chipsets are right, ill check later when i have more time.
