Ok ENT, as you can see, the smilie didn't quote. So, could you (or indeed, anyone else watching this thread), check something? Just to make sure, because I'm still getting this, all the time.
1) Switch to the RT editor.
2) Quote post #4, where you post the smilie and "Smiley in BBCODE".
3) Without posting, can you switch to the HTML editor (press the "Source" button in the top left). Then, can you paste what you get as the <img> tag for the smilie? I get:
<img class="bbcode_smiley" height="1" src="http://files.overclock.net/images/smilies/frown.gif" width="1" />
Since posting that code alone in the HTML editor alone doesn't even give the smilie, I'm surprised that you were able to quote the smilie successfully.
EDIT FOR HUDDLER: I have found a solution, if not the cause. :P
If you can remove the height="1" and width="1" parameters, the RTE can quote BBC smilies without a problem. I believe it's just the order of the parameters which are jumbled up (also the primary issue in this bug).
