when i installed NMC for the first time, i installed the high. played it for a minute, it was like watching stills lol. removed that and installed medium, it was better but still stuttered a bit, so removed and installed small, it worked the best but still had stutters here and there(though i dont know if all the stutters were from the NMC texture pack). is that normal though, i would have though my graphic cards would have been able to handle nmc medium and small with other mods, they're definitely above mid range.

edit: btw, just bought skyrim, decided not to wait =]

Fallout/TES mods, especially HQ texture mods will murder your GPU/CPU depending on the area. Totally worth it though.

the strange thing is, before i learned on NVedit and just installed games on fallout mod manager, it was still 60 fps solid, but it always corrupted my game when i reached Primm. now that i know how to use NVedit and to start my game in windowed mode and save frequently, it is running at 30-40 fps when i thought it would run better since i made sure nothing conflicts. now i just got a curropted save before exiting out of good springs source.... ahhh, this game is driving me crazy >.<"
thanks EVILNOK, i guess i will purchase skyrim, and wait for fallout 3 to go on sale. but i'm still wondering, is fallout 3 super buggy still? don't want to waste more days then getting a curropted save then i have to you know =]

Honestly I haven't had 1 single issue running Fallout 3 vanilla. I never used any mods with it. I usually wait til I complete the main story before using any mods.

Psh.... 30-40 hours in? That's all?

Try over a hundred hours and losing your only game. tongue.gif This is why I save at the start of each new quest. thumb.gif

Also, Fallout 3 is a disappointment after playing New Vegas. rolleyes.gif

i honestly thought that this was some myth that everyone was in on but me, i never had any problems with bethesda games until now.(fallout 3 had some minor things, but i never ran into any game breaking things, one of the reasons why i made this thread as to make sure i don't put more time into something and have it be a waste). now i understand the bugginess of these games. i just really hope the next fallout game will be on a much better engine...or i will cry...
