470 SLi is a monster, theres almost no single card that is better. i think a heavily overclocked 7950 could, but im not sure.

My GTX 470s at ~750 core beat a 7970 at 1300MHz by about 15% in 3dmark11 and that's a mild overclock for a 470 considering most hit 800-850MHz.

If you're looking to be playing at 1080P with everything max on a single 570 you'll do just fine.
If you want, wait around til Kepler comes around and see what it has to show and potentially lower prices of previous generation cards.

I'm actually going to be doing 480 SLI smile.gif I changed my mind. I think I can snatch 2 480's at about $400...I think I'll have a good rig with those.

Do you have a power supply that can handle that? You'll be needing around 800 watts lol.

Good, but make sure you have plenty of air intakes so the 480's monster coolers can heat it up, blow it out the back and warm your hotpockets for you. Meh, their heat is a bit exaggerated, many newer cards come close to their temperature ranges. For $400 you won't get a better deal than a pair of 480s. You'll need a good 850w minimum to run those, which I'm assuming you have (or will get).

My single 460 at 775 is playing BF3 on Ultra without AA at a min FPS of 39.

OC'ed 7970 is able to match 6950 CFX. Go figure.

Yea, will get a 1000W since I'm gonna OC the i5 I'm gonna be getting. I decided to switch to Intel, not sure an FX can handle 480 SLI..
