Would AG coat removal help me?

Ya i was going to let it sit longer but i was very careful on the removal and if i had seen any sign of a problem i was prepared to let it sit for a few more hours. What i ended up doing with the towels i think helped i had a wet one but totally rung out on the panel then i had a fairly wet one but not dripping on that then a dry towel and finally some even weight less than 1 pound over the whole display. But as i peeled it there was no resistance at all nor did it feel like i was putting to much strain on the next layer. But as for if it helps as long as the scratches are not deep it will remove all of them. So if they bother you at all i would say its totally worth it. It also makes all my other displays look sad now cause the colors are so vivid and the blacks are really inky i could see how this on an IPS display would look great!

Glad it worked for you smile.gif

I'm still not sure how long have tovel on screen, some say 30min other 5h, seems like if it's too long then the polarizer can get water damage, if it's too short time then it can also get damage when removing AG.

seems like a glossy M3 protector is 60£, that's way too expensive biggrin.gif

Ya that was one of my concern's i have dissected lcds before and have seen how bad water can make them if it gets into the diffusers and such. I do think the trick is just the right towel wetness so that it losses it. As for time after 3 hrs check a corner mine felt like one of those screen protectors they ship electronics with maybe just a bit tougher though. I also bet that screen size makes a difference on how long to leave it for. I heard about the M3 replacement protectors but there is now way without a really clean environment to get it right i could see dust on my monitor almost immediately anyway. Its been about 4 days and still going strong still looks crazy compared to stock even though its just a cheap TN panel.

Can you post an update about how it went with your mod?

If someone can get a picture of the RGB Pixel up close before and after the mod it will result in rep from me.

I did this mod to two monitors, and after very careful protection of the screen, both ended up with scratches, that then allowed streaks of white light to show through, almost like a stuck pixel effect. It looks pretty, but no way am i doing it to any more monitors.
I have done it to two monitors Dell u2412m and Asus vg248qe, both came out with zero scratches, no glue residue, and flawless image.
