Mionix Naos 5000 Software Crashes

Just got this mouse. Aside from the scroll wheel grips I had I not have a much more serious/annoying issue.

I cannot get the software to work for me at all. First of all for some retarded reason V.1.17 is the most recent software but cannot be found on the mionix website. Why Mionix doesn't keep the most recent version of their products software on thier site is beyond me. Anyway I have uninstalled and reinstalled this software 5 times at least tonight. Runnin as admin and not. At first it would work for a bit, then clicking apply or ok would just cause the program to crash. Now it seems to be getting worse. Last time I installed the software when I opened it it was just a black screen. Like *** is that?

What a pile of junk.

Mionix's version 1.17 appears to have serious problems (check the owners club thread) and they pulled it back to 1.16. My recommendaion is to install 1.16, configure the mouse the way you want it and uninstall their software. I had lots of problems with their mouse software too. But once the mouse it set, it does retain the settings you give it.

Perhaps not the "fix it" answer you want, but it'll get you up and running.

As for the scroll wheel issue, I kind of like the odd feeling of the rubber nubs. I also know better than to pick at them though. I find myself missing them when I use my Imperator or Deathadder. < shrug >

Hex.

Thanks Hex. I actually went ahead and did this own my own last night. Things seemed to be working a lot better. Then when bedtime came I had this great idea to make a profile with no lights on the mouse so as not to distract me while I sleep, and now no matter what I change in the settings they never apply to my mouse. I'm sure it's just a matter of un-installing/re-installing the software, but damn, this is some awful unreliable software.
