Wow, this is only gonna make people flame each other... but here's my 2 cents...

MMORPGs typically make you pay a monthly fee (not always) and can slow down to a crawl when you have to go out and just grind out levels to beat the next dungeon or use that new piece of gear.

FPSs are free online play, and everyone is on even footing from the beginning, other than sheer skill at playing the game. Everyone starts with the same guns, in the case of CS, the same money, etc. They are more based on the skill of the player than on sheer time invested, but you must invest time to get good too.

So, just try the best of each (CS: Source and WoW, IMHO) and see which one holds your attention better. That's my best suggestion.

And btw, why isn't this a poll?

Eh it's a tough one.

MMORPG - be prepared to buy WoW and keep up $15 a month...unless you _really_ like some other rpg; wow is pretty much (imo) the best

FPS - buy once ; you can play for 20min and be done for a day, but you'll likely want to spend more, esp if it's bf2 (work up in the ranks/levels to get better guns...slight element of mmorpg there).

I assume you're already hooked to bf2 (I recently relapsed lol) so I don't think I need to say anything to you (the OP)...
