Hey all!
I have finally ordered my new computer from PC Case Gear and the CPU from MSY. I'll be picking up the CPU tomorrow and getting the rest of the build delivered (PC Case Gear isn't open on Saturday..frown.gif). This stuff will arrive on Monday but I won't be here so hopefully I can pick it up on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The parts list:

700
  • Intel 3930k
  • Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 Motherboard
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
  • OCZ Agility 3 120gb
  • CoolerMaster CM 690 II Advanced NVIDIA Edition (I like the look OK??!!!111)
  • Corsair H100
  • LiteOn iHBS212 Bluray burner
  • 16gb 1600mhz G-Skill RAM
  • Corsair HX-850
  • Gigabyte Radeon 7950 Overclocked

Just to recap: I've ordered this and thus can't change the parts, so don't make me regret anything tongue.gif.

Until next time...
  1. Picked up 3930K

It's ok. That case does look good to me too. Who cares that you are putting in a 7950 tongue.gif

Have you thought about extra storage for music etc? That SSD might fill up quickly

Will subscribe to this,

better than my build, you're going for the real enthusiast gear (x79). I'm going Z68 with 'maybe' a drop in ivy upgrade. Other than that our builds are quite similar as I'm also going for a good gpu and have a corsair psu.

If you want to see what the new 690 case looks like (well the mobo area at least) check out my build log. I bought a basic version a week ago in China that shipped with the new version of the back area with large cpu cut-out and rubber grommets. The grommets are great and won't fall out. Only thing I can warn you of though, is that while the case is completely solid steel, the mobo area is quite thin and fragile. Makes me scared to mount a 900g air cooler on it.

I don't think you'll regret the case though, mine is just basic version but I think it looks very suited to a modern single gpu system and as you know it can easily allow water cooling. I'm trying to maximise airflow in mine, that you can also see from my... build log tongue.gif

I was also borne in Melbourne thumb.gif
