Ok, this was alittle spanish for me,hehe.

So an i2500k is an true quad core, right? And buldoser is and 8 core? The i2500 beats the buldoser in almost every test was my impression.
Im using my current rig a couple of years more and then will uppgrade ( cheap cheap cheeeeeap, hehe) and I am hoping that Amd will stay in there!
Amd fan for life it seems, hehe! What they have done for us consumers....... thumb.gif

And an buldoser compared to an phenom II x4. Shouldnt there be more diffrence there than it is now?

Any who has an article/book about the development in the las 4 years and what is expected in the next 4? From bouth intel and amd. Or something like that

I have an 8120 bulldoZer and I really am happy for what it does for me. I am not a gamer really and the games that I do play, work great. I expect Piledriver (successor to bulldoZer) to have some decent improvements. That is due out the last quarter of 2012. BulldoZer is a cpu that people have grown to love to hate imo. Everyone expected this almighty beast of a cpu in a first generation major architecture change and bulldoZer failed in a lot of peoples eyes in that sense. I had a cheap phenom II x4 840 with no L3 cache and lemme tell you, this $190 8120 runs circles around it. I'm glad I bought one and also looking forward to the next stepping and other future AMD releases.

i2500k is not a true Quad. It holds an HT hand cannon and his GF is a Gun Moll that would smack that 8Core silly for lookin at her. Doesn't mean the 8Core can't compete with i2500k, just means 8Core ain't takin his Girl easily. wink.gif

Looking on the agritecture it should have been better than it scoring on the tests. Is it perhaps a wolf in sheeps cloathing? If programs take advantage of all 8 cores, wouldnt that make it at least as powerfull as the i2500k?
Trying to get the full oversight over cpu maket, if anyone knows an article where they explain the advantage and disad. whit the agritecture on intel and amd i would realy appreciate it!

Not really.... Some programs will see benefit if they recompile with FMA4 instruction set but since Intel won't support that until Haswell, there really is not a big incentive.

Some lightly multi-treaded applications may see a 1-2% gains from better module utilization as well.

There are plenty of programs (including all multithreaded benchmarks) that utilize all 8 cores today.

What are you talking about?

Sandy Bridge has 4 FPU+APU cores so it most certainly is a quad-core.

First you have to remember due to compilers AMD's CPU's never match Intel's in some benches and programs, for example SuperPi etc.If you look at actual gaming performance, the 8120 holds it's own against the 2500k.

Yes, but my impression was that it actually gave lower fps than an i2500k whit exact same gpu. It is almost the same, but still lower, and if that is the case, there must be a way to use the twice as many cores to better use, making it quite better than the 4core intel, not just almost or equal as good.

And even if they use all 8 cores to day, that isnt equal to that it is performing on 100% efficiency, does it?

Ht hand cannon???? Still spanish for me...

Ducky I was not saying that it's not a Quad. I was saying it's a Quad carrying a loaded weapon. Get the analogy yet? smile.gif
