^This shows up every time I enter windows after I updated to the new Catalyst 12.2 Pre-Certified driver.

From what I can tell it install OpenCL drivers for my HD 6670, but why every time i enter windows? thinking.gif

Is it a bug? Anyone else having this after the 12.2 installation?

i was just checking msconfig and saw that I had an AML Device Install program ticked on startup.

I just loaded up 7970 12.3 precert drivers.

Also added a fix to msiafterburner...

your guess is as good as mine anyone know?

Edit: 12.2 precert driver

Same thing here also after install 12.X precert's .I will be disabling it.Hope to be back let you all know how it goes.biggrin.gif

Disabled on boot.I have noticed some odd drag and drop feature's as well as mouse pointer tracking.I would suspect this is something to with windows and AMD/ATi trying to fix a bug such as the"Stuck Pointer". My clocks are the same no matter if running or disabled for the AML.Only thing I had noticed sicne the update is the 'CCC' or vision Control center, takes a bit to load after a restart/shutdown.I myself will be going back (12.1) and not using these drivers until they hash most of the bugs out.Good try on the new drivers but not good enough for my liking, not to mention I didnt see anything in the release notes about a startup application/driver install.Maybe the Pre-cert should have been a clue. The problem is that the official certified driver which will come out in two weeks will be exactly the same, with all the bugs and stuff tongue.gif. So I'm actually looking forward for the next preview drivers and until then I'm reverting to the 12.2 preview as they were ok.

From looking at these slides

http://developer.amd.com/afds/assets/presentations/2146_final.pdf

it looks to be part of the AMD Media Library installation. On slide 11 it shows "post install KDB on HDD" which I assume is what the "AML Device Install" is doing. I further guessing that this post install is a compilation of all the generic code to device specific code for the GPU installed.

Not sure what happens when you plug in new hardware.... this installation runs again?

I immediately disabled it, as they don't have the respect for their userbase to include its purpose in the release notes.

I have noticed no ill effects.
