Anyways the "X-amount-of-channels" ram kits are mostly marketing tricks. Just go for the best price/perf.

The 3820 is an all new die.  they are not 3960Xs/3930Ks with disabled cores.

A lot of people assume this because the 3960X and 3930K have 2 disabled cores. But you are absolutely correct, this chip is a new design with only 4 cores. I was planning on using this CPU ad a stop-gap while waiting for the IB-E. but I got to impatient and jumped on the 3930k deal at newegg since the 3820 didn't seem to be available anywhere.

The price should go down a bit after the retailers get their fill of rape.

Intel's recommended price is $294 - $305, give it a few days for the price to go down a bit.

This is a result from the lack of competition from those other guys, and retailers price gouging. ( NCIX is charging $350 for it! )

That's exactly what I thought. It's only logical and I know that AMD does/did it with their phenoms.

I should do more research before making these "claims", I'm sorry frown.gif.

I hate it when people present good arguments for expensive setups such as Socket 2011...Now I want to go to it instead of FX-8120s. (For anyone wondering why, I'm yet to see much of a difference between a E6700 @ stock and an overclocked x3 720 in gaming, so I doubt a 4.5Ghz+ BD would hamper gaming at all and in terms of the other thing I mainly do it matches a 2600k for much less cost for me. However IB-e would be something to think about...)

Lol only because I wanted to show OCN with that futuristic back round, something I haven't quiet figured out how to activate it on my OCN accout.

Anyone know how to edit the page back round? Mine's just the plain navy blue.
