My dad doubted me when I was building his, and having a DOA motherboard didn't help, but now that it's working, he loves it.

Nooooo he has discovered my plan!! Bah o well time to look for the next flight back from Boston.

No but seriously, Im glad you went ahead and ordered your comp to build your own.

Building it yourself is so easy a caveman could do it! (sorry for the comercial knock off)

I wish I could have seen his reasons beacuse after owning a dell I could have contradicted his reasons and added about 200million other reasons why to build your own. My dell was a great computer(for reading e-mail and barely that.) And the whole tech suppor thing is a joke.

A couple of years ago I called them to fix something, foolsih me not knowing of overclock.net at the time. Finally after 15minutes I get ahold of an indian man who I cannot understand. After following his retarded instructions getting no where until finally he gives me another guide which FORMATTED MY C DRIVE!!! After loosing my school report which I had worked for 3 months on I vowed never to call tech support again. Thank goodness for overclock.net

Ben, it has taken me quite some timeto persuade my Dad that I should build a desktop PC for him. He has finally seen sense, and I have built him a lovely little P4 for less than 1/2 he would have paid in a shop. plus i can upgrade it for him , cheaply, and/or show him how to do it, he's ssmart enough to learn how.
hopefuly he will become the 3rd generation of Overclockers in my family.
there's me, my Son "m1ke" , and now hopefully "Grandad".
I also have an up and coming 7yr old, who is just getting into usin a PC.

good luck with your build......and your Dad.
