MSI Big Bang Power 2 VS Asus P9X79 Deluxe - thoughts?

Hi All -

I've obtained all of my parts I and am about to begin my build however have been a bit reluctant on using the ASUS P9X79 board I planned on using. As you can note - it's getting pretty lukewarm reviews on NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131799 .

MSI just released their latest board and I was wondering what everyones thoughts were? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130626 . Obviously the board is new so there's not alot (if any) user experience available but I noted that it does contain more SATA III connectors than the ASUS board which will be useful to me. Is there anything else I may be overlooking which would sway me one way or the other? My build includes a Cosmos II so the MSI board would fit.

Appreciate any suggestions -

Thanks!

Personally I think the big bang is the superior board. Plus it looks sooo sexy all black with those gun rounds on the side. I jizzed my pants just looking at the thing tongue.gif It also looks great for 3/4 way SLI with all of those pci-e 2/3 slots

For me, I'm not interested in the looks (the Cosmos 2 doesn't have a window) but performance and features are an obvious must.... thumb.gif

The bigbang and rampage 4 extreme OC the CPU the same. Bigbang OCes BLCK better, Rampage OCes memory better.

Bigbang over the P9P any series is a pretty easy decision to make. The rampage has more more OC features like OC key and subzero sense, and the bigbang has a different look.

Honestly between the two you mentioned id go for the bigbang.
