How to disable monitor cloning in 1080p games

When playing any game not in eyefinity resolutions will display duplicates on all three of my monitors. So a game @ 1080p will be cloned across all displays when gaming. I have to turn off the monitors because it is so annoying.

How do you make the two outside monitors blacked out when playing at normal resolutions?

I don't exactly understand why you would run 3 monitors cloned and not extended. So here is my advice switch to extended desktop mode make sure the windows task bar is on the middle monitor. Make sure you have icons only on the middle monitor. Take your background image and change its resolution to 5760*1080 and fill in the 1920 spaces on the sides with black.
You should end up with something like this

All contemporary monitors have a really cool feature that will black out the screen with the press of a button: The power button. biggrin.gif

Seriously though, you should be able to configure that in the windows settings.

I'm running in eyefinity. My monitors are not cloned on anything other than games that are using 1920x1080 or lower. I am trying to remove the cloning. I always run everything at 5760x1080 except games that don't support that resolution. I'm assuming that the setting is somewhere in the ccc. Anything I change in the windows monitor properties disables eyefinity.

I have the same thing. Oddly though not when I am running crossfire, the two extra monitors go into sleep instead :S

If you turn off eyefinity and run in desktop extended mode the game will run on one monitor and your desktop will be displayed on the other two. Although this is inconvenient as you would need to enable eyefinity again to play at 5760x1080 its the only way that I know of avoiding the cloning problem if it bothering you that much. Well that or running crossfire biggrin.gif
