Computer reboots itself in games NEED HELP

Thread Starter
So I've been having this problem lately. Whenever I get into games such as League of Legends or Fallout 3, my computer will restart itself.
My drivers are all updated. My CPU/GPU is water cooled with temps under 40c (in games).

I have a 1000w PSU so I think there's enough power for a AMD phenom II 955 and a single AMD 6950.

help is appreciated, thank you all

If it isn't getting to hot on the CPU/GPU...and there aren't driver issues.

Then the next most common thing I see causing this it usually the hard drive going out...second most common is the PSU.

Usually it is a driver issue though. You might want to uninstall completely and reinstall the CAT drivers.

Though an unstable overclock could cause this too...especially a GPU one.

I feel like its malware. I recently installed a new crucial m4 SSD but before that I had 2x 300gb velociraptors on RAID 0 and it started doing it there. At first after 3-4 weeks of use of the SSD I've been having the same problem.

It also reboots without warning even if its on stock clocks (CPU and GPU)

Try running memtest86 from a cdrom or flash drive to rule out memory issues.

And, if you suspect malware, then you should download one of the free trial ones, like counter-spy, and see if it picks up anything.

Does it do anything when it reboots, bsod or otherwise, or is it as if you pushed the reset button?

I am running malwarebyte at the moment. It does not BSOD. It is as if I pressed the reset button. There is no object touching the physical reset button and is protected by a cover so there no pressing it by accident

In my experience, malware will typically manifest itself in several annoying ways before it starts rebooting. Are you noting weird popups or notifications in the system tray from programs you don't remember installing? If not, I would tend to lean towards a hardware issue.

Without an error message, BSOD, or wierd graphics clitches, I would lean towards the PSU or perhaps the board itself.

Have you looked at any log files? Many times they are hard to understand, but if you turn on the logged you might at least get a clue but looking at the last thing thing the machine did.

Nothing seems abnormal running in the system tray. Its only for some games it'll restart. Normal web browsing doesn't cause reboot. I had many reboots with League of Legends (after 5-8 reboots it stopped) Only recently I tried to play fallout 3 and it did the same. With other games such as assassins creed revelations/ bioshock 2/ virtua tennis. it doesn't reboot
