[HotHW] Leaked AMD Roadmap Reveals Three New Bulldozer Processors on Tap for Q1... - Page 2

Just like when the first 64bit Processor hit the table.....
We needed a 64 Bit OS to take advantage of it's higher memory allocation capabilities, in laymen terms that means, a way to waste some more ram...
The new architect for AMD's new processor requires it's own instruction set, which hasn't hit the table yet...
By the time it does though, Intel will have bought a license from AMD to use the technology, effectively saving AMD, as they will need more "bailout" money since they already got there huge settlement in court.
Obviously Intel cannot monopolize the industry or someone would step in to cut their company down to pieces (like the big GOV)....
In short, thanks AMD, we appreciate your valiant efforts and great engineering work, but until your processors are producing what we need them to produce, we will be waiting for the next OS & Software that can fully utilize them...
Just my 2 Cents (& I could be wrong in some points, I'm not all knowing, thankfully.) biggrin.gif

Didn't you once claim that Bulldozer was going to beat Sandy Bridge in everything, and that Bulldozer was ahead of its time? thumb.gif

Here you are, making similar claims, yet again.

it does happen to be ahead of its time. There is no instruction set for it.... It's pretty much running in compatibility mode right now.

So what your saying is once Super Pi 32 or Cinebench R11.5 use the instruction set it will beat sandybridge, Ivy too?

Do you know why none of the bulldozer owners post here

That instruction set is smoke and mirrors to keep you from looking at the bottom line. Case and point your sig rig!

I am not saying that everything is fake, the Intel fanboys are touting the numbers that make it look bad.
Why is everyone obessing about benchmarks, I think people just like to argue.
Is somebody being paid by intel to continually post these statements? I have never lied
The crazy rumors end up with corporate customers. I have to debunk them. There is a selfish self-interest here.

Let me revise this entire post...

I think that the architect has a bit of a flaw, dedicating too much to Floats instead of Integers, because many programs use integers much more than floats...

I see that AMD corrected this in one of their Opertron processors...

I see some of the higher end FX Processors as a high end client version of a Server Processor...

Though LLano & Lynx are definitely nice processors, for sure...

I do not think it's an awesome CPU for Desktop Enthusiast, for an 8 Core Intel CPU would clearly paint a vivid picture of what the Bulldozer / Zambezi processor is not.

& that's not a great processor, however, for the price, $55 less than an i7-2600k and pretty close in comparison, it's not a bad processor either, truly!

All that aside, there needs to be no heckling or contending about it, we as consumers can either like it or not, personally I was disappointed though, truly..

The i7-3960X, if you got the cash, will indeed blow any processor you have away, but I couldn't really couldn't fully utilize a beast of a chip like that...

Truthfully an i5-2500k is a great enough CPU for me... (I am content with my i5-750 till Trinity & Ivy Bridge hit the table)

Didn't meant to rile any feathers up, bows out of this thread...

Trinity coming in a few weeks? Huh? Haven't seen that anywhere... my understanding was that it got pushed back to an early summer launch.

Anyways, although I doubt these are the mythical B3 stepping Bulldozers, it'll be nice to see reviews to see if GloFo's process has matured a bit.

If the price is right on these, and that 6 core does well, could be a nice buy, hopefully these are 95w, that alone could warrant an upgrade from my aging CPU

Derp, knew that and still wrote it doh.gif

As the first post of the thread indicates, these are all 95w models.
