Question: Any word on Corsair releasing a 650D successor - Page 2

Wtb 800d successor

The 550d seems an awful lot like a 650d with dampening and no window, and some other stuff most of which seem like improvements. The 650d is $40 more so I presume I'm missing something.

One thing I would really like to see more case manufacturer's do, is to add an internal card reader integrated into the case. Every laptop has one now so why not add a $5 or $6 piece of hardware that saves us a bay?

550D front fan filter is not easily removable. I was eyeing one but the lack of easily removable front fan filter turned me a way. (I have a dusty house, need air ducts cleaned)

Actually, it is.

You'll see Jeff taking the front panel off with a simple latch. The dust filter in front of the fans is magnetic, and while he doesn't remove it himself in the video, it takes about 5 seconds to open the case and remove the dust filter.

that does seem about as effortless as dust filters get. which still begs the question, why is the 650d more expensive? The 550d seems like the 650d made better, though it's not as wide, which I suppose could limit super tall coolers. Not that I'm concerned about it. Just curious. *sometimes price scales just change and older models take a bit of time to catch up. If it's that, I understand.

My mistake George I was thinking of the 500R. I apologize for getting the model 's mixed up.

George, any possibility of releasing a SKU with a black front control panel? I think the majority of the comments about this case is the silver colour clashing with the rest of the case.

Primarily the size difference. The 650D is much larger, which adds a surprising amount of cost to the case. There's a couple of bucks in the fans as well, 200mm vs 120mm, but the biggest difference is the size of the chassis itself.
