Sleeving Help Needed

Thread Starter
Ok so I have a build going and I am needing expertise on sleeving.

I have 6 of these that need sleeving: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103091

I also need to sleeve the front IO panel cables on this:

399

I do not need to sleeve the fan wires you see in the pic because they are being replaced.

The only catch is. I do NOT want to remove any cabling from the plugs if at all possible. What do you all recommend? Preferably black or red.

what do you mean not remove the cabling from the plugs? you mean to remove the headers? or like you dont want to have to recrimp new connections?

Both. I would really like to find a solution for covering the wires without any crimping or removing headers from plugs, not sure if this is possible. Also need a solution for a usb 3 front io panel cable and a set of front io panel cables (power switch, hdd light, etc).

You could always buy extensions. If I'm not mistaken NZXT actually makes them in black, so you may try Newegg and see if they have any in stock.
Also might check out to see if BitFenix has anything like that with the Alchemy series.

Amazon - NZXT 3-Pin Extentions (Black)

Also, if you decide to sleeve your PSU but don't want to take the time to do it, you can also buy pre-sleeved kits from Corsair directly and save the time. But I believe they're $89.99. About to buy a set for my AX850, but an idea for you my friend considering you're going to sleeve the fans, I'd bet money you'll fall into doing the PSU too.. thumb.gif

Corsair AX Series Cable Replacements (White)

You can select a different color of course. smile.gif

EDIT - Or of course, just get extensions for your 1200.. redface.gif

Thanks for the input, and I have considered it on the fans (might be the solution I go with) but it does seem like it would be more hassle than it is worth on that end. Mainly I just need to find a way to sleeve the front IO panel cables and the front usb cable.

I have already purchased the complete replacement kit for my ax1200 a few days ago to solve the PSU sleeving wink.gif save me time and will look really sick. http://www.corsair.com/power-supply-units/psu-accessories/professional-series-gold-ax1200-individually-sleeved-modular-cables-red.html

the IO panel cable headers are thin enough that you wont have to remove them when you sleeve the cables. the USB cable though, you will have to remove the header. it's not that hard. just mark the colors on a piece of paper and take a staple and you can just pop the pins out.

you can see the tabs in the header where you just push and then pull the little wire out. i cut the AC '97 header off.
33099866.jpg

boom done. looks all nice and stuff. i was in the same boat in that i didnt want to buy a crimp tool and all those pins.
62623082.jpg

the sleeving for the USB cable is too small to fit over the header. so that's the only way to do it!
