Isn't the 7850 supposed to be like $250 for the 2GB? Not terrible I suppose.

The issue is the copyright junk, not if it's short enough to fit in a few paragraphs.

I actually always thought it was so the source gets some traffic too. :x I mean as long as a source if given, there would be no copyright issues.

The traffic issue might be part of it as well - OCN gets ad revenue when people read an excerpt, AND the site it appears on gets clicks/ad revenue *if* the full article isn't on OCN. Just good practice I suppose.

Hmmm. It could be that the gtx 690 is a mobile single gpu, for laptops. Kind of how 6990m is a single-gpu, but named after their flagship desktop dual gpu card.

Sent from my SAMSUNG Galaxy S.

Now there might not be a dual GPU card, but that's not to say a, or some, manufactures will bring a dual GPU card to the table.
Sort of like how ASUS had that 580sli beast, the Mars 2

This contradicts everything thats been said so far about Kepler.

GK104 was supposed to launch in April and GK110 was set for late Q3 but now it turns out GK110 will also launch in April? Good news if true.

You clearly meant to be "that guy" simply because, like the guy above, you didn't seem to notice ~4 posts about it on the front page. Once again, rolleyes.gif

The mods have stated several times that if the article is really small, that it's ok. How small, that seems to be different (from mod to mod.)

Unfortunately, I'm guessing 250-300 (280-300 for "after market" style cooling/pcb/any overclocks) and even more for the 6870. It's the only way to fill the (*major*) gaps in pricing, and when the HD 6xxx series is sold out, it solidifies AMD's drastic price hike this generation.

Plus, 249 has been quoted several times in leaks for the '50, and 299 for the '70. ...I can't believe they're actually trying to -raise- prices on GPUs. They've been stagnant long enough, and now they're going up? Eh, can't blame a corporation for trying to make money, but that doesn't mean I like it.

Yeah, me too. If the whole article is here for everyone to read, no one's going to go to the other site and therefore make it some money.

I agree, and I'm as confused as you are. If my second system wasn't in such a need for a GPU I would wait til April and give Nvidia a chance, but I'm going to grab a 6850 or 70 asap.

Edit:

So according to this, we'd see a dual GPU card before the high end single GPU card? I somehow doubt that.

Well, if it were based on the supposed "GTX 660" then it would make perfect sense, wouldn't it? I never understood why the 590 wasn't a pair of GF114s with double the VRAM and higher clocks. Or if they wanted to stick with GF110, then based on a 570 setup with double the VRAM.
