The Phenom II X4 920 is an AM2+ CPU (an early Deneb), and does indeed have a locked CPU multi.... Phenom II X4 920

The other AM2+ Phenom II X4 is the 940BE, and that one does have the unlocked multi.... Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition

i been reading up and watching this it is listed as a black series motherboards reads it as such the packagign read black series... im just new to ll this i wanna push this comp faster is all.. it has a billion things i can adjust

if you can modify the frequency multiplier, then it is definitely a black edition cpu

I think he's confused about the multiplier. You can lower it on any CPUs (AMD atleast. Rarely used an Intel) but not bring over a certain value.

It would be great if you could post a CPUZ validation link or a screenshot so we know what CPU you are using. As there are no unlocked 920.
The chip is a C2 so expect to max out around 3.7-3.8Ghz

(Now I wonder if we could flash the CPU bios or something xD just like video cards)

oki i was going threw it its the bio's but cpuz says its a basic 920.... my question is stayin with the am3 series what processor could i upgrade to that i can get the best oc and system stability on

well the only widely available cpus left to choose from are the 1100t, 1090t or the 960t. id say get the 960t. its only a quad core but its unlocking potential is so high that youre almost guaranteed to get all 6 cores running. it only costs between 100-120 bucks
