I checked his post again and I must say I have no idea lol... I just realised I don't know what he exactly want. Not idling at 4.8GHz? headscratch.gif

No maybe i am wrong lol, IDK lol.
OP, we urge you to leave power saving on! You will only run into issues with it disabled.

So i went ahead and took the way of the SB technology and left it idle at 1640mhz, but then when running apps and stuff it would go up to 4.5.

Ive been tinkering with the voltage to bring the temp down. So far i am at 1.275V and if i lower it to 1.270 it crashes it stays at a good 35-44c but when i play battlefield it can sometimes jump up to 74c as a high. my friend was telling me never to go above 70 so whats your take on it?. all the power save features are on in the bios but not on windows.

But ya all this info really helps thanks guys!tongue.gif

It will jump to 4.5 for normal apps because 4.7 is not needed at that time. Are you prime95 blend test stable for 12 hours?
What temp do you get during prime95. Sounds like your unstable, unless your cooler is not mounted correctly, or the ambient temps are very high.

If you hit 70C with BF3 then you should get +10C at least on prime... I would definitively get a better cooling or just lower the overclock.

Prime 95 is the first thing you do after oc, you should run it to see how stable you are, those Sandys dont like temps over the 70C for 24/7, keep it under 70
