Yes. I tried everything I could think of. Still the same problem.

Whoever thought the laser should go anywhere but the middle is a complete idiot. I'm going to return it. Just to be sure, will the G400 act like the MX518 in that picking it up won't cause the cursor to move? I just want a mouse that works like the MX518 did. Also, is the Cyborg R.A.T. 3 any good? Should I just stick with the G400?

No, he's right.

The sensor position is what causes the acceleration to occur.

I can deal with it, some people just don't adapt to the acceleration as well as others.

I can pick up my G400 and it gets no jitters. I would avoid the RAT gaming mice....They are too expensive for a MadCatz product.

The Cyborg R.A.T. 3 is $49.99 on TigerDirect.com (the retailer that I bought the G500 from). I guess now I'm wondering which is better. G400 or the R.A.T. 3?

You said the sensor. Plenty of other Avago 9500 sensor mice like Xai, Sensei, and G9x can turn off prediction.

Shouldn't an unchecked "Enable Angle Snapping" be able to turn it off?

I was talking about prediction not acceleration. I know some people do not like having the sensor at the front of the mouse if they sweep it at an arc.

I bought my G500 over a year ago which replaced my aging G5 and I love it. I noticed that it was a little strange at first till I messed around with the set point settings and got everything just right. I use a non fabric mouse pad (flat and smooth) since I have my mouse on a glass desk and there has to be something under it in order for it to work.

No. You can not Turn off Prediction with this mouse(g500). You can only adjust the settings for the mouse Acceleration in Setpoint, even if you set the acceleration at 0 it will still be there(bugmaybe?). There is also negative acceleration present with this mouse. That is the entire reason I decided not to RMA my G500 and its sitting on my desk. I use my G400 for my main rig and a $5 ball mouse on my back up because I hate that g500 so much.

In FPS my K/D ratio and accuracy when though the roof just by changing form that horrid g500 to a G400. Spent a year fiddling with firmware, Drivers, windows mouse settings and setpoint setting's. Could never get the mouse to act right in a gaming situation. I was starting to think I was just loosing my tough as a gamer, but it was the junk mouse holding me back.

G400 has settings A check box in the Gaming Software to allow you to turn off Acceleration, and they removed prediction form it with no option to turn it on or off.

EDIT: long and short, the enable angle snapping check box you see in your pic is useless, if its the mouse, or set point is beyond me.

Look at my screenshot. It says G500 with an option to enable/disable Angle Snapping (aka prediction, drift control).

You are using the wrong terminology. Prediction is not the same thing as acceleration. Prediction is how the mouse compensates for drawing straight lines.

I already know about the slight hardware acceleration of Avago 9500 sensor mice.
