I play at a fairly low sensitivity (34cm/360) and with any A9500 sensor I have constant problems aiming due to the mouse acceleration. This same sensitivity would also not be ideal with a mice that uses the PTE sensor either as I'm constantly picking up the mice to preposition it on the pad. Center placed sensor is also important as it's what I'm use to, anything else seems out of place.

Sure if you play at a high sensitivity and you never pick up your mice, neither of the sensors are going to bother you.

What I am saying is that people "think" it will interfere. That's not to say some people do notice the difference, but for a lot of people, they get a raging semi over sensor names and technical specs whereas in the real world, it will make absolutely no difference.

When I was younger, I used to buy into the whole specs thing... but having become a little more level headed, chasing technical numbers is really a waste of money.

I'm not sure I'm understanding you. I don't see how it's a waste of money, especially comparing two mice like the G400 and the G500. As long as both are comfortable to use, I see no reason not to get the G400 which is normally cheaper as well.

Even before I educated myself, and looked up the technical specs I could always feel a reason why so and so mice just didn't feel right. This was back when I used the G5 when I wanted to try out a new mice. Before even looking at the technical specs I quickly realized the faster I swiped the mice the longer the distance was needed to turn around the same degree. I also noticed that when swiped too quickly, the mice would literally "pause" .

Again a low sensitivity player is going to notice this much more than those who play at faster sensitivity.

I'm not so much criticising comfort as that is important. What I am refering to is buying new mice because of features that are different on paper, but make absolutely no difference in the real world. I mean, I asked about my G500 and I was told the sensor was awful, it snapped to angles, it jumps about everywhere and that I needed a £70 Naos 5000 that would automatically detect settings with sensors that scan my mouse pad.

Balls to that.

What an absolute load of tripe. I do much better in games with the G500 despite it having worse technical specs. I felt a bit rubbish given the waste of money that was the Naos 5000.

Naos 5000 uses the exact same sensor. So the technical specs are actually identical unless they used a custom lens. Naos 5000 on the other hand was built poorly in every way possible. I heard there were tons of issues besides the tracking like wobbling, double clicking, etc. Whoever told you to get a Naos 5000 doesn't seem like anyone around here to be honest.

I'm not sure where you see that the technical specs of the g500 are any worse than the Naos 5000 though. As I said above, they both use the same sensor.

Custom lens on A9500 is highly unlikely or rather unnecessary.... All in one VCSEL assembly.

In the end of the day you're both right. Comfort and preferences are important.

This whole thing is just insane,

Been reading this whole thing while i was at work.

its just dumb about this all

i to own a g500 and coming from a mx518 after it usb cord shorted out.

and this mouse is great, its just prefence. nothing about the sensor being to the right a little will cause anything noticable.
and every mouse you buy you have to adjust it to your likings, dont expect to buy a mouse and love it outta the box.
i had to audjust every mouse i buy.

G500 it a suprior product to g400.
g500 is a very recomanded product around here, and to the people who say its not ,are just the people who dont recommand it.
Well, i wonder why the g500 has 5star just about every website, and your know maybe 5+ million sold.
I guess every one who bought them is wrong cause 1 guy says the sensor is to the right so its a bad mouse.

Not to come rage on this thread, its just absurd. g500 is not a bad mouse nor is g400. its prefernence.

also to OP,

Its sounds like what your problem is that you need a hard mat, and mor adjustment to the software till you get it right for your self.
and if you dont like it then it easy to get a new one.

That is False. The G500 has an actual fault in the design. The switch for the left and right click are prone to failure. That make's the G400 better quality period. The rest of it you can argue but the swtich's are an actual skrew up on logitech part. Google it.

Ok well never had a issue with mine for the year and a half i have owed it.

But lets just end this whole thread saying,

Each mouse has there flaws none are perfect for everyone.
Each mouse is prefrence based then overall specs.
aka some people prefer g500 some prefer g400

Each mouse you should try propley before coming to a conculision by changing your settings.
Sensor to right or in middle its just a prefrence. Like me i like it, Like others they may not.
