AMD 8120 4.3Ghz 3dmark11 vs AMD 1100t 3.9 Ghz

Thread Starter
I had bought bulldozer, decided to upgrade from amd 955 be, and I got my 8120 to 4.3ghz and maxed my sliders on my sapphire 5870 e6 2gb card. First run was oc cpu, second is gpu maxed.
My brother got my old asus board and we decided to bench off using 3dmark11 and compare systems. He has asus m4a88tdv evo and 1100t running at 3.9ghz 4gb ddr3 at 1700mhz with a 6870 1gb, I am running a asrock 990fx with 8gb 4x2gb ddr3 at 1600.

Mine, just cpu oc. http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2783645
Mine, full cpu and gpu oc. http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2783671

His highest oc. http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2783312

Love to hear any comments on this bench off!

Keep it civil and polite.

We couldn't get the 1100t any higher stable, though he did do a few suicide runs with wprime at 4ghz and did 32m in 6.3 seconds.

you got a bad 1100t then, I've had 4 of em get to 4.3. It was hot, but it did it.

That's weird, my 8120 @ 4.3 got a much higher physics score then yours. And you only got 1 more frame on the combined test with a 6990 vs my 5879 2gb. Heres the test I just ran.

Unfortunately it's just yet ANOTHER area that AMD seems to be miles behind Intel.

Intel chip quality doesn't seem to vary NEARLY as much as AMD's.

Keep in mind that many 1100Ts just BARELY passed QC. IE many of them are essentially unlocked quads that are barely capable to running all 6 cores @ 3.7ghz turbo boost.

I RMAd my original 1100T (for "other reasons) because it literally would **NOT** go past 3.7ghz. It didn't matter how many volts I gave it, how many cores I disabled, etc.

^^ Miles behind on everything it seems compared to intel, especially the fx chips sadly.
