Along with passwords and login problems , EA doesnt even care that origin is bad. What response what people get from the problems?

In order to capture proper information, we need a CLEAN test with CLEAN log files. Please follow these steps to collect a clean version of this data:
Step 1. Reboot your computer.
Step 2. Go to folder: “C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs” and delete any existing log files there.
Step 3. Run Origin and Log in.
Step 4. Open the Origin Logs folder once more and collect Origin log files from the folder “C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs”
Step 5. Send all of the following information in an email:
* Please include the user name/email address that you are logging into Origin with.
* Please use this format for the subject line of the email, [Password reset/logon issues] - [your email address] [Your external IP address].
* Attach the Origin logs, any screenshots to the email. Attachments ONLY!
Please do not paste the info into the body of the email.
* External IP can be found by going to a website such as http://ipchicken.com/
Congratulations! You’ve successfully compiled a bug report!
Step 6. Email your compiled bug report and diagnostic info to OriginLogs@ea.com
Treat us like idiots.
Ontopic: as for bioware's claim on "non-intrusive origin drm" that can go jump off a cliff. They said the same thing for KOA: reckoning. Lets see the announcement was along the lines of "1 time registration" "play without origin" ahah makes you laugh. What happened when you install KOA? register with origin fine. sign in to ea account in KOA. But what happaned to the other part? play without opening origin? Nope never happened. Everytime you wanna play gotta open origin, but since I had no internet for a few days I cant even play a SINGEPLAYER mmo, you would think there is an offline mode option nope that never existed. I think this is the exact same thing thats going to happen to ME3 1 time registration (which is the same thing you do on steam) then after that you cant even play it if the origin server is down or origin decides to take a dump on you and tell you you dont own any games.

ok "Treat us as Idiots" well you do realize that most people who use the computer and game are the common person with very little computer knowledge. They have to give the instructions one time in an easy enough language that people who do not know what a BIOS or an IP is can understand them. If you take offense to something like that, then you need to get over yourself.

Wait.. what? a Single Player MMO... the fact that you need to be online to play the game is pretty much summed up in the term MMO that you used yourself. What does the O stand for? oh that's right Offline...

I have Battlefield 3 on Origin, and 80+ games on Steam.

Steam always works for me, have been using it since early 2006. Only encountered some small problems through all those years, and if possible I would get both BF3 and Mass Effect 3 on there, as I have so many games from there before, and most of my friends I play with on there.

With Origin, I have MANY problems.
1: Friends list goes offline and does not want to come back up unless I close Origin and start it up again. This happens 1/6 times I start Origin.
2: Origin REFUSES to go online and can do this for up to an hour. This happens 1/25 times. Perhaps not much, but still very annoying when it happens and I want to play BF3.
3: Origin won't start at all. This has happened 4 times since I got it on BF3 release.
4: In game chat does not work properly at all. 1/10 it actually works as it should. This is VERY annoying as I need it to communicate with friends when playing online, as we don't use microphones.
5: When a new update of Origin is up, its not updating it self like Steam, I need to push several things to get it done. Not a big issue, but still Steam offers a better solution.
6: Yes Origin actually has a live chat function, but that is only available about 1/10 times for me, and when you finally get through to them, you often get a total noob that can not fix your problems properly.....
7: Origin saves personal info that it does not need, at takes it without asking, Steam have a hardware info collecting base, but asks if you want to do it or not. Which is fine and they way it should be.

When Origin actually works properly, its ok. But why on earth should people like me that have so many games on Steam need to convert to Origin, just because EA has a stick up their ... and will not let Steam have it (Gabe Newell said that they wanted BF3 but could not get it).
If I where new user though, it would be fine since I would not have games on Steam, but for us that already has it there really shouldn't be a need for Origin.

I am not saying Steam is perfect, and their support is dead slow. But other than that I prefer Steam in every way!

Just my 2 cents

Woopty doo I made a mistake in calling it an mmo instead of an RPG. I think your missing the point in what I'm trying to say. Here let me sum it up for you.

Origin is not that bad but:
1.EA should get their crap together and fix the bugs, and glitches of origin if they want it to be a succesfull competition to steam instead of shoving buggy software down our throats
2.Yes I said treat us like idiots. Did you take a good look at the instructions I quoted? Does anyone need to be congratulated for sending an error report? How about the fact that EA does jack about any of the problems. Yes that means they are treating us like idiots. No? Too harsh? How about treating us like mindless droves and dollar signs? Still no? How about that buzzing voice in EA's ear that spontaniously combust into money for their quarterly reports.
3. If they're so worried about the average joe not knowing how to file an error report, why dont they just have a convenient little button that compiles the report for them? Why? EA doesnt give a god damn.
4. Devs need to stop lying about their "1 time activation DRM through origin" because that is simply not true.

Maybe this will help you understand the post and then some.

I just wish they would let you download and install it on Steam too!!!! I hate having 99% of my games on steam and then BF3 and ME3 on Origin :/.

GIVE US THE CHOICE!!!!!

If you played it and entered in your cd-key etc to an email or ea account then it will merge it with Origin, this happened to me when i bought Alice and C&C TT on steam sales; albeit they popped up along with bc2 about 3 weeks ago. It's probably more with EA linking games rather than origin scanning programs

Your loss then and if the demo is any indication it will be your loss. Origin is really not bad EA just needs a few tweak and fix and it would be every bit as good as steam. Anyway I am going to go back to the Mass Effect 3 demo you enjoy not playing it and give your Steam client a hug!

No that did not happen at all. You have had to enter your cd key in Origin or registered it with EA though your account linked to your Origin account. I have 23 games that were purchased though Steam and none of them just appeared in Origin. I had Origin installed for almost a year before I found out I could even some of my Steam games to Origin and even then I had to manually add the cd key to Origin for it to add them Blame it on Origin all you want but it just does not make it so!

Im so excited for this game, i love the ME series and cant wait to find out the end to the story. The game requiring origin to play is no big deal for me, i mean alot of people use it for BF3 anyways but i guess i can respect why people would choose not to purchase it because of that.
