my motherboard is at 120 degrees celcius, i just built my comp couple days ago for the first time
why is my mobo that hot is it dangerous im just surfing the web ect.
it was fine yesterday i just noticed right now when i opened up speccy there shouldn't
be a problem with the airflow in my case i have a NZXT phantom fulltower with its fans in custom position, what shall i do !

Most likely either the sensor is broken or just doesn't have one and the application hasn't picked up on that tongue.gif

It wouldn't be alive at 124c

That could just be an error. I take it you have Asus AI suite as you have an asus board. Install it and check the temps on that I highly doubt it is really that hot.

It could just be a glitch tongue.gif If it really was 124C I'm sure you would be able to smell it. Also what is your CPU temp?

ohk its been at this temp for a while now hope its just an error

i thought maybe my its because i have an 800watts PSU and may be over powering it wich is causing the excessive heat.

@andrews2547 cpu temp is around/below 40 degrees celsius.
Try other temp monitoring programs like core temp and open hardware monnitor. Are the temps fluctuating or steady at 120c? That's pretty smoking hot if it is and I would think you would feel warm exhaust or slightly warm. Check out the temps through other programs and also if your bios has a temp monitoring for the board check that as well. Let us know what you come up with. Also make sure you have equal intake:exhaust ratio that is just as important because if you have 5 fans blowing in and 1 fan blowing out the hot air can not escape the case. Good luck to ya, hope I helped

1200 watt psu wouldn't "over power" your system. It would be excessive watts available for what you have but not overpowering. The number is most likely erroneous for sure because you could fry an egg at that temp

As other's have said, it is mostly likely a bug with the software that you are using to read the temps. Also AI Suite does the same, I would try hwmonitor and see what that says.
