New build. Need Opinion - Page 2

I cant use Newegg.com since I'm from Canada, which is why link / screenshot are from NCIX.ca

This would be my AMD alternative. Would it be faster for encoding ?

I do more encoding than gaming but still want nice performance.

For Tarun, I will use my PSU,case, SSD and 6850 from my sig rig.

In the screenshot below, the PSU will be used to power my old part (sig rig will go to GF with my old 4870) and I'm buying a new 6850 to crossfire.

Will the FX-8120 be enough for 6850 Crossfire?

What do you mean enough? Like bottlenecking?...you'll be fine.

The i7-2600k is best for any coding or editing. Idk where they got that info from, but I don't believe it is right.

Well his purpose is to play games, so why would he worry about that.

I will not only play games, my PC should technically be 60% of time encoding and 40% gaming but is the difference in encoding with a i5 2500k enough to justify buying a FX-8120?

No, it is not. Stick with Intel at that budget. The i7-2600k suits your needs perfectly.

I gotta vote for 2600k for encoding
