Since the V10 uses a built-in TEC unit, the thought crossed our minds that maybe, just maybe we would be able to mod the thermistor to run the TEC at 100% to improve cooling efficiency. However, please remember that this WILL void you warranty and as you will see, while it works it also isn't reversible and has a very good chance of destroying the TEC through overheating.

is it worth it for performance increase? What happens when the TEC dies?

I did it to my old V10 and didn't find it worth it. I even installed a much larger TEC, and still didn't find any noticeable difference.

You'll probably just overload the cooler... Not worth it IMO... They set thentec whe the did for a reason

so in other words this is a horrible cooler? D: which one should I use, this one or Kuhler 620?

It's actualy a prity good cooler for low tpd chips (especially cellys and last gen core duos)... The only problem is that it's heavy... You would probably be better off getting an h80 or h100 jut because they are very universal and around the same price iirc

TEC`s run best at 40-60 % of max rated power, any higher and the efficiency goes down while the current draw and heat goes up. I would suggest the H 100 like ESKY says and you can even push-pull with 4 fans if you have room.
