Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 (Rev. 3) - is it good?

Hi peeps,

I was thinking of removing the standard cooler from my Gainward 7800 GTX and whacking on the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 (Rev. 3). Has anyone got this on their 7800GTX? If so do you recommend it? Are there any other 7800GTX GPU coolers out there that are better than this one? Read a few good reviews about this one.

Cheers JP

I had a Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 (Rev. 2) on a 6800Ultra, it worked a treat with load temp at around 65°c and doing it silently (wel i could'nt hear it).

And the other thing is that it takes the heat out the back

I would get another one but my NorthBridge HSF gets in the way

I might be able to get some more OC out of it too :-)

I'm thinking of the same model but am hesitant because of the size specs.

Does anyone foresee a problem using two of these with dual 7800 GTXs in Sli on an Asus A8N-Sli Premium?
Thanks Evan

no you wont have any problems using the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 in your SLI rig. you may have to have your DTS xplosion card in the bottom most PCI slot if you don't already. I also noticed that the metal support, the shiny allium one that runs the length of the 7800's gets really warm.. I would get a set of these http://www.frozencpu.com/products/32...?tl=g40c18s236 and run them the length of both cards. This will add a really cool look and also be a great place to disapate some more heat as it will put it right in to the air flow channel.

Can't wait to see those temps drop!
