Very odd "Detecting IDE Drives + DISK BOOT FAILURE" on every SECOND boot.

I'm on a DFI DK 790FX M2RS right now with a 955BE and every SECOND time I start my computer, I hang at "Detecting IDE Drives" for a minute or two and after it finishes detecting the drives, I am faced with DISK BOOT FAILURE PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

This is only happening every other time I boot the computer, which strikes me as very odd. When the computer does boot, it functions perfectly fine with no hangs, lag, or any errors.

I have google'd the problem and tried a various assortment of solutions. I have tried unplugging all USBs, I have tried unplugging all other SATA connectors, I have tried using both Native and Legacy IDE in my bios(my bios does not have AHCI apparently), I have tried unplugging all PCI/PCIE cards apart from my GPU.

I'm sure the board is not faulty either, I had just pulled it from another working computer which I had parted out on.

The drive in questions is a Vertex 3 MI, which I am absolutely sure is not faulty, as I just pulled it from a working system today.

More details about the rig:

I know it sounds silly but, no cd/dvd in the tray? I don't know, thats all I got. Maybe boot order in BIOS?

Well I tried booting it with no DVD drive connected to the mobo at all. No dice.

In the bios I have disabled everything except the SSD boot drive.

TBH, this wouldn't be so confusing to me if this problem were not occurring only every second boot I make.

I went out today to buy a new sata cable today to try and the problem is still there. I'm pretty sure it might be some bios seeing

This is a issue with your sandforce driven SSD. This has been a known issue with them for some time.
I suggest going to OCZ's website and downloading new firmware and flashing.
I know this helped most but other issues have been reported.
Even after I flashed mine I will have that same issue every once in a while.
