Having one sensitivity for everything will improve your muscle memory, and you'll also improve as a player in FPS/RTS.

BF games have always had really weird sensitivity scaling between infantry and tanks and helicopters and jets. Even sniper guns are different. That game alone is probably responsible for why all these gaming mice have these DPI adjustment buttons.

Coming from CS/Quake background, I would imagine they view this DPI adjustment button as superfluous.

As a pro gamer, when I get to the 63rd level of the Plane of Narnakruk and am battling a Green Zebropanker with dual Craxoboosted Flame Cannons, I need to know my mouse cable won't let me down. Non-braided gives me the edge I need in these situations.

Exactly why they allowed the option to change the scaling between infantry, tanks, helicopters, jets. It's been in the game since BattleField 1942. You have always been allowed to scale all your sensitivities 1:1 thus allowing you to not have the need for changing your DPI on the fly. This also allows better muscle memory IMO as your sensitivity is not constantly changing in such short periods of time.

EDIT: Yes this does include even the most recent BattleField 3.

LOL

Braided mice FTW. If it affects your play you suck.

Guess I'm in the minority of liking the braided cable at all, then, much less for non-aesthetic reasons. Non-braided mouse cables get stuck on things WAY more often between the edges of my desk, under the edge of my monitor stand, etc., and the insulation on most mice just plain feels poor quality. My desk is wooden and I don't have any friction issues from the braiding whatsoever, actually my issue is with the G500's Teflon feet wearing the finish on the desk down to 3 strips that are incredibly polished-looking, and the sensor skips if it passes over these strips.

Well, players gonna hate! biggrin.gif

Or was that, haters gonna hate? Hold on a sec, allow me to consult the Urban Encyclopedia...

On a less stupid note: I have a mouse with a braided cable and I must say I prefer it, mostly for the aesthetics, but it seems like the sleeving would help a little bit against wear and tear. I don't really see this being an issue for any but the most hardware abusive gamers though.

Thats crazy! Are they vertical or horizontal or? Maybe a little sandpaper would bring it back into focus, depending on how much you like your desk wink.gif

I've been gaming for years and I can't " feel" any difference. I think braided looks better and haven't had any issues with any mice with a braided cable ever fraying or anything else. I think sometimes people like to make a big deal over nothing. To each his own I guess.

I like my braided cable, its smaller and more flexible than my old mouse cord
