Why do e-sports gamers hate braided cables on mice? - Page 4

I don't mind braided cables on mice, my old CM Sentenial which just died had one, but my new G400 dosen't. The braided cable tangled up alot though.

But i HATE HATE HATE HATE the braided cable on my Razer Xbox controller. That crap is always getting tangled up.

To be fair the SS braided cable is far more flexible than others like the G500.

My problem isnt with it being flexible enough, more that the cable sometimes falls behind my desk and tugs on my mouse because there isn't enough slack. I fixed this by duck taping the cord to my desk to it doesn't do this.

A new cord might be more flexible when the mouse is new, but it does loosen over time. Personally I have never had a problem with it rubbing on my desk, infact it usually never even touches my desk but stays kind of in the air. This pic should show you what I mean.

With the big mouse feet and the 4HD hard mouse pad I never get resistance unless the cable actually falls down or gets caught on something.

Oh also this:

I feel that slight tug when I am aiming and it throws me off. The only reason I still got it is because switching DPI in game is a must.

Having one sensitivity for everything will improve your muscle memory, and you'll also improve as a player in FPS/RTS.

It because either in black ops or BF3 for me black ops, it changes when in a chopper gunner. I like my high and when in chopper it gets slow so I just increase my DPI on the fly to optimize gunning. Then set it back down when in person.

There are different types of branded and non braided cables. Some more flexible than others and vice versa.

Braiding does tend to add extra resistance though.

I think he was just trollling the kid/person (it was in all probability a kid) who said he was almost always the best at Black Ops. MPTH IMO thumb.gif

Non-braided mouse cables get stuck on things WAY more often between the edges of my desk, under the edge of my monitor stand, etc., and the insulation on most mice just plain feels poor quality. My desk is wooden and I don't have any friction issues from the braiding whatsoever, actually my issue is with the G500's Teflon feet wearing the finish on the desk down to 3 strips that are incredibly polished-looking, and the sensor skips if it passes over these strips.

it took some getting use to having a braided cable, I make a bungie to hold the cable up a little so it don't drag, I much rather have a rubber / plastic cable any day, I have my mouse on a keyboard tray it seems to get stuck 200% more then any of then other mouse cables Ive had in the past. it drove me NUTS for the 1st couple days until I rigged something up
