LinX, IBT, Prime95....

Hey all I know that most people would consider 12 hours of Prime95 blend with no errors as confirming a stable overclock on the CPU. I made 3 and a half hours lastnight then suffered an error on the 4th worker, so I'm close to being stable. I'm just finding that I don't really have the time for these mass Prime95 tests. I'm not happy about leaving my computer on over night doing this because I want to monitor voltages and temperatures and don't want to the computer just sitting there frozen for hours should it crash. So I wanted to know some less time consuming methods of confirming a stable overclock.

I know that LinX and IBT push the CPU harder than Prime95 by the fact that they make my temps higher and make the computer much less responsive while they are running (That might just be because they can be set to use up more of the RAM though?). But I'm just wondering how long I need to run those 2 programs to be considered stable? I've seen a lot of people say 50 runs with IBT on Maximum. I have no idea with LinX though. I am currently running LinX for 50 runs on the highest setting I was able to do. Do you think that's enough?

and 20 runs of LinX /all mem should be sufficient

excellent thanks smile.gif i will try that custom prime95 test in a min!

my computer just passed 50 runs of linx on the biggest problem size possible which took 2 hours and 8 minutes - it passed with no errors. max cpu temp was 65c. looking good so far smile.gif

Ok well I ran for 25 minutes with 1344 FTT with no errors. then with 1792 FFT but that had an error on the 4th worker. So I upped the Vcore by one increment and ran it again for 30 minutes and it passed. Im hoping it's stable now. It's at least got to be damn close to stable! If anyone else has any other methods then please let me know! Thanks smile.gif
