Their pads aren't usually very sticky on the frsotbyte, I review their memory so I always take them apart so I'm well experienced with what's usually under there heat spreaders.
The stiletto model is the only really sticky one they use that I've seen, those you can pull off IC's when you remove the heat spreader if you don't warm it up first. Frostbyte and Ridgeback models it's not sticky really, and can be popped right off after you remove the clips or screws (Ridgeback)
They should for sure have metal clips on the frostbyte models, there should be two one under the model sticker and one on the other side. They look like this, and you can see them in ANY product image for any of the frostbyte kits at any online shop. Sorry to hear Neweeg shipped them to you with a rubber band holding them together, that's terrible and sounds like someone sent you a return for some reason - Unacceptable!!
