Nope, just the Agility 3 is a lot slower and would limit the Hyper X and this:

RAID 0:
There's no real benefit in RAID0 SSD for most people since it just boost sequential performance. You generally do not need to load massively large files into memory nor have another storage device fast enough to transfer from/to.

Pros:
  • 2X faster sequential reads/writes of the slowest drive (not really noticeable with SSDs).
  • 2X space of the smallest drive.

Cons:
  • No TRIM support for SSDs part of an array atm.
  • RAID 0 only improves sequential performance which is generally not that useful and it also almost doubles your failure rate. (1 drive goes the array is lost and all data is gone, you need to have a backup of all the data on the array in case of a failure)
  • Slightly slower boot time (The RAID controller needs to initialized after the BIOS does and that adds time to your boot time, usually 3-5 seconds slower)

Additional Notes:
  • Trim will not work when you have SSDs in a RAID volume as of yet. Intel is releasing driver support very soon for TRIM in RAID 0. But, as long as the SSD is not part of a RAID volume TRIM will work when the SATA mode is set to RAID in the BIOS/UEFI on Intel systems with the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver and AMD systems with the latest AMD RAID driver. Ex. Two 1TB HDDs in RAID 0 and a separate SSD for the OS. The SSD will still have TRIM working correctly.
  • If you have a AMD RAID array make sure that you can NCQ enabled in RAIDXpert. If not you may lose performance that you can easily gain back.

Thank you kindly, Sean. smile.gif Will use the Agility for less used programs, movies, music and pics then.

Work time on the Hyper X is at 9 months 25 days and 2 hours now. No problems yet. 11,129GB read and about 6,000GB written. redface.gif

I have never seen this program show anything but 100% life on a drive. I have a year and a half old Phoenix Pro and it still shows 100%... Is that normal? I figured it would show something like 80% or so being I have used it quite a bit in the almost 2 years of owning it.

It could mean overall drive health % not life %. Like if all SMART values are good, it shows 100%. I know the Intel SSD utility shows drive health and drive life %. I wonder if it will run on non Intel drives
