Please help. Netgear N900 problem

Lost all internet but working sorta now. Here it goes.

I finally have my main computer hardwired and working correctly with the router. All the lights are as they should be. But no device will connect wirelessly.

My laptop shows connected to the router but no internet connection. It is on windows 7 64bit. But it goes to a public network instead of the home network.
My phone (HTC evo 4g) says obtaining address and keeps repeating
My tablet Acer A500 says obtaining ip address then goes to disabled, secured with wpa/wpa2

Even if I disable the security I get the same results. If I install the add on netgear genie software it says the wireless internet is disabled but if I go into the router setting page they show working.

I have literally been trying to fix this for about 5 hours today. I can use my phone to connect the tablet and the laptop to the internet with no problem.

And calling netgear support back is not an option. The guy argued with me about using the cable from the computer to the laptop...well that is another story in itself. I'll just say it'll take an hour to unplug and replug that since it is and hidden.

Have you tried using a cable to see if it connects.

deleted all networks. used a cable and got it working. unplugged cable and turned the wifi back on the laptop and it is working.

but on the router setup I had to use the setting use computer mac address to make it work.

now trying the tablet and phone.

this is so frustrating.

Not very firmiliar with that setting. I know you can do network filtering with MAC addresses. Perhaps there were older networks on your laptop that were causing an issue with your router. Also make sure you always check "Credential Manager" under control panel, sometimes it also can cause issues.

Like said i'm assuming this is a Wireless Adapter.

First off i'll say remove the Netgear software and just install the Drivers by itself via Ethernet.
There was a problem with the Netgear Genie creating problems in another thread.

What Router do you have, and does setting a static IP help with anything?

I never installed the netgear genie program.

Again the router is the WNDR4500 (N900) and it shows in the router settings that it is using a dynamic IP from ISP. Also the DNS assress is from ISP.
The MAC address I had to use "get from computer MAC Address".
