Are you telling me not to get mobo blocks at all?
Everyone so far has told me the x79 chipset vrm gets hot, hence the mobo blocks. Perhaps there is a mobo block set that doesn't have nickel?

The nickel problem was with EK GPU blocks, not Koolance RIVE blocks.

Get the motherboard block, it will definitely help you push your chip.

And what's wrong with the Koolance block, exactly?

Edit - And I run a copper CPU block with x2 Nickel EK Blocks no problems what so ever and others on the forum will tell you the exact same thing.

He's fine with what he's selected.

Water-cooling hardware manufacturer EK has halted production of all of its nickel-plated waterblocks, as certain coolants and additives have apparently been eating away at the nickel plating....

Yeah, almost a year ago.

Thanks for trying to be helpful, but that's been done and over with for quite some time.

Edit - This is 2012, right?

Edit #2:

Halt on EK Nickel Plated blocks - 11/06/2011

Dear EK partner/user,

As EK is looking for lasting solution for nickel plating issue (concerning corrosion because of silver coils and copper sulphate additive) we decided to halt sales of nickel plated products till solution is found and tested. Our resellers were advised to halt sales too.

We cannot put users into position, that we replace products and corrosion starts again on new product. Hopefully we will find an answer and tested solution in short while.

We will update you as soon as we have any news.

However, If customer insists on buying EK nickel block, we offer a customer full 24 month warranty on material, manufacturing and corrosion.

Edvard König

Issue has been addressed because they have been selling nickel blocks for a while because I was looking at buying some in December. Not to mention, nothing he's going to be using is EK. So how can you tell him not the get the Koolance RIVE block?

in november still meeting problem
some shops have stocks older that that... plus one falty line is everything. moreover, i said I"M NOT SUGGESTING JUST GIVING INFO.
why gamble, if there is a copper block, same staff u winning at the best like 1-2 degrees at the MOST
also the full cover block is way superior to his original block, due to higher amount of space for heat to spread out....
PLUS the paltes are NOT made of nickel, coated only, so at the worst case scenario dont like pure copper u can do it urself for like 10 bucks
