It has much better CLI tools as well as GUI tools that have all the same options. Overall I think Gentoo has some very nice package handling abilities, I might have to see what it is like just going pure Gentoo.

Anyone else using Sabayon/Testing?
I used to use it as an everyday then the hard drive failed and I just never reinstalled it...I still use the live DVDs though

I don't really see sabayon going anywhere as long as they keep the compatibility with portage. If it wasn't for portage I wouldn't honestly see this much better than any other distro. I think portage is where it is at as far as source distributions. Sabayon helps so that you don't have to do so much work as a standard Gentoo install would. The only thing that I have found that sucks is that building certain apps require swap with a 2G system. lol I need to start doing my heavy building outside of X, I had to let my system do it's thing earlier because it was all sluggish.

[edit]

Just got FF and wine built. I really think arch users should try this instead of Arch. Even though you cannot use entropy and portage the way I do, you can use them (stick to the same package versions when building in portage and don't modify /etc/make.conf).

Honestly this isn't hard though I have had years of dealing with meta-packages and package dependency on a scale that makes this look nice. LOL when meta-packages were first introduced you do not want to know the hell they caused. It was like a year or so of "oh ****, fix this".
