Sub 700$ laptop

From reading the sticky i was suppose to post in this format

Max budget? $700

What country are you in? United States

What will be the uses of this laptop? Essentially 0 gaming, Primarly use would be web browsing and watching movies.

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you? I have no brand loyalty but i would like the best quality laptop possible of course within the price range.

What screen size do you require? 13" to 15"

What screen resolution do you require? I honestly don't know, this won't be used for gaming so nothing to fancy like 1080p is needed but it can't have a terribly low resolution either.

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay? I would only buy a NEW laptop.

How long should the battery last? Atleast 8 hours if possible when just web browsing(fb,youtube, etc)

What games would you like to play with your laptop? As mentioned before no games will be played and if games are played very low settings would suffice.

What operating system do you need? Windows 7

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? anycolor but preferably pink

How much hard drive space do you need? anything above 500gb would suffice/

Do you need any special hardware? A webcam would be only need

Is there anything else we need to know? If needed just post and ill respond as well as i can.

I'd go with the Toshiba Satellite (Portege) R845. 10 hours battery, perhaps 8-9 is more realistic. i5, 14", weighs less than a Macbook Pro 13, 1.1" thick, magnesium alloy chassis etc. Complete beast, and it's only $650. I have a similar 13" laptop (also in your budget, weighs 1 pound less, and I get 7-8 hours of battery with screen at 30% brightness, web browsing etc.) - the Portege R835 and I love it. Any questions, ask. http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-R845-S85-14-0-Inch-Laptop/dp/B005KP0BJU/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1329723938&sr=8-8

Jrbroad77, thank you for the reply i just might go with the R845 due to its low weight and high battery life. The reason im asking for laptops around 600-700 is that my friend who plays no games only surfs the web wants a laptop so she was planning on spending 1.2grand on the macbook pro which i advised against.

I did a lot of shopping not long ago and found Asus U56E is hard to beat for the money if you just want long battery life, a good-sized hard drive, and 15" monitor. Office Depot has one for $579 with 8-cell battery, 640GB HD, 6GB memory, and i3 2310m. I bought one these for my mom a month ago and it was a nice buy. It's really hard to find a machine with an 8-cell battery that cheap. Only drawback is the onboard speakers are weak. If you add a Logitech z305 USB speaker for $40 you get some good sound, loud with good bass. Or I guess you could just use headphones.

Get a Fusion A-8 comp. They are plenty fast enough for a web only laptop. People who spend a ton of money on a facebook machine drive me crazy.
