[TPU] Core i5-3570K Graphics 67% Faster Than Core i5-2500K, 36% Slower Than GeForce GT 240 - Page 4

When is Intel going to fix all the image quality issues? For all the people who whine about not having 16xAA at 60FPS minimum yada yada.. Intel doesn't even do textures on high, period. You can snoop around for image quality comparisons.. to 4-year old midrange graphics. Guess which wins?

For laptops this is fine, but for desktops? I'm not sure I'd even trust HD 4000 for HTPC video playback, especially not to drive a high-end TV. Just doesn't make sense, get a $30 discrete card that can play 23.976FPS and with better image quality.

Try comparing IB graphics to Trinity. I'd take 384 GCN cores over HD 4000.

I just enabled the HD graphic and it always crashed on User Account Control, not even suitable for windows tongue.gif
While Radeon 3000 was working great, even better than Nvidia's low-end graphic cards, very nice SD upscaling too.

I have to say intels Hd3k did impress me, Occasionaly i do disable and flick from my 6990m to the IGP in my laptop, simply because it's whisper quiet, And it saves power, and it's cool... But mostly because you can get about 40 fps in wow with no anti aliasing, Looks like crap, But still 1920x1080, populated city, i'm impressed.

Drops the price of OEM machines (or at least allows the OEMs to drop the price...if they so choose), which means more people can afford nicer PCs. This doesn't mean squat to OCN, but to non-enthusiasts this is good news.

While this isn't very useful on the higher end K model, it will certainly be awesome for your i3-3100 range dual cores in home builds. No need for discrete graphics, just plug it in and let her rip... should lower the price of the HTPC atleast... and also allow you to game slightly during times when your graphics card is on RMA smile.gif

If you're going that route, might as well go AMD and build a Llano system. I just built one this past weekend, as a desktop replacement for my parents (whose idea of hardcore gaming consists of multiple sessions of Mahjong Titans). Total cost of their build - CPU, mobo, RAM, DVD writer, 80+ Bronze PSU, and case - was $250. (We reused the HDD, which should last them long enough for the storage market to return to normal.)

Hopefully we'll soon see better benchies for the Intel HD 4000, including both a graphics-related comparison to Llano (for the low-end crowd) and a compute-related QuickSync comparison with the HD 3000 (for the enthusiasts who actually use the internal graphics hardware for something).

It's a shame most of the people who are planning on getting a 3570K aren't going to be using the on-board graphics.

??? Some people don't need a dedicated graphics card or they can't fit a decent one in because they have a low profile case and if you are going to game it can run those tested games at a playable frame rate.

Even if the shader horsepower was there, the memory bandwidth won't be for a long time.

Unless Intel plans to go quad channel for 1150. (ie. Not likely)
