But I get your point.

I pay $20 a month for my phone service. The phone was free too. If I need to use the internet then I'll use my $1500 computer. That's what I built it for.

APPLE and AT&T you just got owned!

OK, let me see you get on the internet while riding in a car, when the power goes out or when sitting in a restaurant waiting for a table.

Wants, not needs.

So he needs a $1500 computer?

His post is pointless for this thread, just as mine was.

No, point being. A phone is a phone. It's used for calls. Anymore is simply a want.

You don't NEED internet access on a phone, believe it or not plenty of people get along just fine without it.

The hell is that article. Carriers are obviously trolling us. Hell the operations cost are low to non-existent. They only need to pay for service, support and maintenance. Beside that it's free money for them.
Plus, they factory lock the phones so they are sure to keep them. So really, this article is BS.

this.

home = wifi

school = wifi

friends houses/some public places = wifi

so i dont need some dumb data plan contract costing me unnecessary $.

iirc t-mobile's current data plan for most android phones are like $30(?) a month? so a 2 years contract = thats well over 700$ right there.

 but i believe to each his own; some people might find it being a must to have internet access but i find it more of a "want/benefit" tbh

I agree to each there own. Which is why I'll continue to use Boost Mobile and my $35/m unlimited everything plan without contract.

I never said I needed it.
It is nice to have though, just as a $1500 computer is. It is just a matter of your wants. I don't want or need a $1500 computer, so I don't have one. I do want internet on the go, so I have it (and pay for it).

Good for you. Many people still do not have wifi everywhere they go (I don't have it at work), and if they want to stay connected, then they need a data plan.
