Asus P8P67 Wierd Behaviour

Thread Starter
Okay. So today i installed my new rig. I have an Intel I5 2500k on an Asus P8P67 Rev. 3.0 and Corsair Vengeance RAM.

This is my problem -> Everytime i start my PC (after beign shut down, not after restarts) ,it spins all it's fans and after that it auto-shutdowns itself and starts again in like 2 seconds. Works fine after that. I think i have the latest bios and no OC done yet. All on stock (except RAM, which is @ 1600mhz on 1.52v). Any ideas why it does that?

One thing before you do that, you probably won't be able to boot above 4.5GHz with it off.

Hi. I am back with another problem! xD

Almost everytime i power-up my PC i get this error - "CPU Fan Error - Press F1 to enter Setup" . I opened up the case and the fan is spinning and is in the right motherboard header. According to BIOS is spinning at ~700-800rpm (is a Thermalright TY120). To fix this and boot , the only way i found working is to go to sensors and change the CPU Fan Profile from "Normal" to "Turbo" and viceversa.
Any thought on this? The board has its latest bios and the fan is spinning and mounted correctly.

PS: Max temps in Intel Burn Test are these -

Core 0 - 48"C
Core 1 - 51"C
Core 2 - 52"C
Core 3 - 49"C

So it's not the overheating issue.

Are you positive the CPU fan is in the right header? I had that problem too until I realized I had it in a chassis fan header, then the problem went away.

There's also an option in the advanced portion of the BIOS, I want to say it's under a tab called Tools but I may be wrong, that says "Wait For 'F1' If Error" and you can set that to disabled I believe which will let you boot up. It will still give you the error but in 1-2 seconds it'll resume booting up.

You need to lower the minimum fan speed threshold in the BIOS. I needed to do the same for my course CPU fan on my P8Z68V/GEN3
