I hadn't thought of that but that's a good possibility too.

Hello,

I have been having the same problem. Just added swapped an Arctic Cooler Freezer 13 Pro for my stock heatsink, and a Corsair HX850 in for my old Corsair HX520.

Have already replaced the PSU, still no fix. I reset my BIOS to default, nothin. Memtest checks out, can run Prime95 (didn't have time do a long test) without crash so I don't think there is a major CPU issue. The heatsink is not overtightened and both screws are equally tight.

I have disabled PLL Overvoltage to fix the initial problem. Now my cold boots seem to be working okay. However, when trying to wake from sleep, my PC will power on, then shut everything off almost instantly, then powers again but wont post.

All connecters are correctly attached to mobo (24 and 8pin).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in no way experiencing performance dips, as far as I have noticed, and my Temps are fine (28 idle, 40-50 under load) , but it is just a pain/I don't want it to develop into further issues.

Lastly, will turning PLL Overvoltage not hinder my Overclocking abilities? This was the reason for the upgraded PSU and Heatsink.

You will more than likely not be able to boot above 4.5GHz but that's the only side effect I know of that pertains to OCing.
Try going into the BIOS -> advanced -> APM -> enable power on by PCIE.
Can't guarantee it'll work but there's a chance that it will.

Just thought I would say. I LOVE YOU. That solved my issue completely. I also re-enabled PLL Overvoltage and still booted properly.
Thanks for your help!

**edit: I just reflashed my BIOS and put that setting on. Even with PLL Overvoltage enabled everything checks out. Really appreciate the help I was beginning to think I may need a new MOBO.

I'll have to do some testing here in a couple days because when I tried that, it didn't work for me. Only disabling the PLL Overvoltage did but I'll have to give it another go so I can try and get a higher OC.

Interesting. It seems as if this was the total fix for me. Even my BIOS boot time has improved? Strange. Well best of luck, happy OCing and thanks again!
